What's hot...

Stroger tax veto stands

"This is not going to go away. People are angry, rightfully so. They see higher taxes paying for scandal and abuse in this government. They're suffering in this economy and they want a repeal. And so we're going to keep doing this. We're going to keep repealing it. If he wants to veto, he can do that at his own risk."

Forrest Claypool to Associated Press, 5/19/09

Fox News Chicago investigates county highway department and finds "County Workers Caught Asleep On The Job"

"This is not a choice between healthcare and higher taxes - this is about good management."

Forrest Claypool to ABC News 5/12/09.

Forrest Interviewed on Sales Tax Repeal

"The Board cannot be the chief executive of the county...What the board can do, however, is to say 'No' to an outrageous tax increase when people are struggling to pay for Todd Stroger's 'Friends and Family Plan'."

Demand For Answers In Stroger Hiring Scandal

CBS News says, "Stroger took Cole from a busboy at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, to a $60,000-a-year county worker. He ended up as Dunnings' assistant without apparently going through any of the normal background checks...

If Cole had been checked out before he was hired, Stroger would have been saved a lot of embarrassment and taxpayers' money wouldn't have been wasted."
